In 1999 three river guides – in a moment of rare clarity and unconditional generosity – started Project Great Outdoors. Their purpose: to offer their skills in navigating nature’s challenges to help troubled youth become a little less troubled. Today, Project GO consists of more than 200 skilled volunteers and its whitewater rafting and challenge ropes course program has been instrumental in turning around thousands of kids from youth programs in northern California and Nevada. The experience is a living, breathing, hands-on metaphor for self-improvement.
We thank our sponsors for making Backwash and Project GO possible!
